Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within demolition, earthworks, or civil engineering.

Experience managing multiple projects and working within fast-paced operational environments.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and financial management abilities.

About the Role
Hawkes Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual management of our demolition and earthworks operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations.
Working closely with operational teams, estimators, and senior management, you will play a vital role in managing project costs, contracts, risk, and commercial performance across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial performance of demolition and earthworks projects from tender through to completion.

Oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across multiple sites.

Prepare and manage contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements.

Identify and manage project risks, variations, and change orders.

Work closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure financial targets are achieved.

Negotiate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure the best commercial outcomes.

Monitor project cash flow and ensure timely valuations and payments.

Provide regular commercial reports to senior management.

Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
