Sustainability and
Environmental Responsibility
Building for the
future responsibly
WE'RE RESPONSIBLE
At Hawkes Group, we believe that doing the job right means doing it responsibly.
Whether we’re demolishing buildings, preparing groundworks, or supplying plant and sweeper hire, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact and deliver cleaner, more efficient projects.
Our approach is simple: reduce waste, always use the right equipment, and work with people who care.

REDUCING OUR EMISSIONS
We continually upgrade our plant and transport fleet to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency. We also;
-
Include a large proportion of modern, Stage V compliant machinery in our fleet
-
Keep all of our equipment regularly maintained to ensure it runs efficiently and cleanly
-
Plan site and road movements methodically to reduce unnecessary mileage and idling
-
Train all operators and drivers to work with fuel-conscious best practices.

A TEAM THAT CARES
Everyone at Hawkes Group knows the value of working responsibly.
We all do our part in every aspect of the business and we’re proud to be making progress.
-
Site managers and supervisors actively look for ways to reduce waste and disruption
-
Our plant fitters and HGV technicians are focused on fuel efficiency and machine upkeep
-
We work with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors who share our values
SMARTER DEMOLITION, LESS WASTE
We plan our jobs with sustainability in mind recovering as much as possible and sending less to landfill.
Over 90% of
non-hazardous materials on most demolition jobs are recovered or reused
Crushed concrete and brick are reused on site or repurposed as recycled aggregate
Waste is sorted
and handled through approved, local recycling partners
We work closely with clients to find opportunities for reuse and material efficiency
OUR COMMITMENT

We know there’s more to be done and that's why our business is committed to:
-
Reducing emissions through smarter plant investments
-
Increasing the use of recycled and repurposed materials
-
Making environmental responsibility a standard part of every project
-
Continuing to grow the business in a way that balances progress with care

RESPONSIBLE SITES
Sustainable working also means keeping sites clean and well-managed with the surrounding environment in mind.
Dust, noise and vibration are managed to reduce disruption on sensitive sites
We track all waste movements and provide full documentation on request
Our teams are briefed daily on environmental practices and clean operations
We aim to leave every site tidy, compliant and ready for the next phase of works
