There’s nothing quite like taking a performance car to the environment it was built for, and our recent track day at Bedford Autodrome delivered exactly that!
With the Toyota GR Yaris out on circuit, the day was the perfect opportunity to experience the car’s precision handling, responsiveness, and performance capabilities in a setting designed to push limits safely and confidently. From fast straights to technical corners, the GR Yaris proved why it continues to earn such a strong reputation among driving enthusiasts.
Hawkes Group Track Day: GR Yaris Unleashed
The Toyota GR Yaris is far from your average hot hatch. Developed with direct input from Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division and inspired by the brand’s World Rally Championship program, the GR Yaris was engineered with performance at its core.
Powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine producing impressive power for its size, paired with Toyota’s GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system, the GR Yaris delivers exceptional grip, agility, and driver engagement both on the road and on the track.
Lightweight construction, sharp handling, and rally-inspired engineering make it the perfect car for events like Bedford Autodrome, where its performance capabilities can truly be appreciated in the environment it was designed for.
