Overview:
Join The Hawkes Group as a Project Supervisor in our Earthworks Division. In this key role, you will oversee daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with specifications. Your leadership and expertise will be vital in managing resources, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision:
Lead and oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols. Supervise subcontractors and site personnel to enhance productivity.
- Health and Safety:
Implement and uphold health and safety procedures to foster a secure working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards proactively.
- Quality Assurance:
Monitor construction progress and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards. Perform inspections and quality checks aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Resource Management:
Manage on-site resources, including equipment and labor, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Oversee deliveries, inventory, and logistics to support project needs.
- Communication and Reporting:
Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates on project milestones and challenges. Prepare daily reports and documentation to track progress and communicate essential information.
- Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve challenges that arise during construction, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions. Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate changes and achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent health and safety certification.
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction industry, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and UK regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proactive team player.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (desirable).
- Knowledge of Earthworks and heavy plant operations (desirable).
